A little about us
Hey I’m Ben, the owner of HMA Tree Care.
HMA Tree Care was set up over a decade ago following a career in agriculture. Through this gaining vast knowledge of farm life and agricultural plant operation.
As the years went by, I invested in machinery and established HM Agri Services. Primarily focusing on Agricultural contracting across the Fylde Coast. Gaining contacts through being a local contractor, I was drafted every year to assist with the Christmas tree harvest at our local plantation.
Naturally, I developed a passion and interest in Arboriculture and I pursued opportunities in Cumbria so I could gain experience in this industry. The experience gained from contracting for a well-established arborist allowed me to obtain and achieve all the relevant qualifications, education and knowledge to found HMA Tree Care.

Our team
Dan
Climber / ROV Operator
Dan has been part of our team for some time now and being brother to Ben has made this very much a family run business. He is one of our primary climbers within the team but takes his main role in operating our two remote control machines, the flailbot and predator stump grinder, both can be found on our equipment and services pages.
Dylan
Groundsman / Climber
Dylan joined our team over 3 years ago now and is a well established part of the operation, being one of our climbers but taking a bigger role managing ground operations and assisting climbers.
Jimmy
Groundsman/climber
Jimmy is our latest member to join the team after a career in the armed forces. Joining us earlier in 2022 he has soon fitted in with our team and certainly a big part of our maintenance program with his interests in fabrication and mechanics.
James
Climber/groundsman
James has been a contract climber for us since we started doing part time as well as working for other tree firms, but now has joined our team on a full time basis and is our lead climber in the Arboricultural team.
Toby
Climber / Media
Toby is a life long friend of bens who has worked part time for HMA since we started as further to this role he runs his own business – buzz drones, which captures the media and digital surveillance aspect of our work.
Richard
Plant operator
Richard is our main plant and transport operator having over 20 years experience driving plant and agricultural machinary. Main role on site is operator our two excavators armed with either the grapple or shear. In his own words “ if it has a seat I’m happy”.
